Building on their successful time at DEMAT, two senior directors of the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust have left the organisation to take on new demanding roles in London.

Former Chief Operating Officer Sarah Conant has joined Inclusion Expert, a national organisation which provides targeted training, consultancy and resources to help schools achieve outstanding inclusion practice.

Sarah joined DEMAT at an early stage of its development, playing a key role in school improvement by leading challenging schools on an interim basis.

Nick Hills – the trust’s former Director of Finance – has joined Vanke Holdings (UK) Ltd as its Interim Finance Director. Vanke is a leading real estate company originating in China but which now has a base in London.

Nick was DEMAT’s first Director of Finance, successfully establishing the trust’s financial systems and building a team to manage the finances of its 33 schools.

DEMAT Chief Executive Andrew Read said: “We owe a debt of gratitude to Sarah and Nick. They were instrumental members of the team in developing the MAT into what it is today. They leave a legacy that enables the trust and its schools to continue to thrive. We wish them the very best for the future.”
