Welcome to the DEMAT website.

DEMAT represents a diverse community of schools, pupils, members of staff, governors and trustees, where every person is valued.

Our objective is always to improve outcomes for children, and to ensure that every child in every school can access a high-quality education. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to thrive, whatever their background, circumstances, faith, culture or country of origin.

Our shared vision is to see children and adults flourish within a trust which is characterised by hope and aspiration, rooted firmly in our Christian faith, with each school embedded as a focal point in its local community.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust. We are proud to continue the Church of England’s work providing high quality education in a caring and nurturing environment. Our vision, To learn. To know. To lead out, sets out what we do as a Trust and how we work with our children, staff, and communities. We pledge to provide a knowledge rich curriculum and help our children thrive. Above all, we want our children to become confident within society and develop as individuals.

Our pledge

To achieve this, we have created the DEMAT Promise to put children at the heart of everything we do. What more could we want for our children than for them to leave school well educated, confident, kind and able succeed in their future choices? The overarching vision guides our work, supported by the Trust’s values of Love, Community, Respect, Trust and Ambition. We want children to feel at home at school, to feel safe and to know we are always there to support them.

Unique

We aim to provide a high-quality education, underpinned by our Christian distinctiveness, delivered in a manner which promotes effective learning. Additionally, DEMAT commits to bringing a range of academic, sporting, arts, and community events to our pupils. We believe extra-curricular activities are key to boosting confidence and helping develop a child’s social skills. The Trust works closely with our schools to maintain high standards and always looks at new ways of working. We promise to do the best for our pupils, to help them develop the skills to achieve their dreams.

The DEMAT Promise

The DEMAT Promise encapsulates all the aims of our Trust – to provide every child with the highest quality education, help them achieve their full potential and deliver an exceptional learning experience, which encompasses our five core values: Love, Community, Trust, Respect and Ambition.

We are extremely fortunate to have a talented team of staff to deliver this promise.

The Trust is ambitious, dedicated and caring. We want our children to develop an enthusiasm for learning, a curiosity about the world, and a caring attitude towards it – to understand that this is the only world we have and to embrace the responsibility this bestows upon us all.

In addition, we seek to stimulate children so that they have an understanding of their own capacity, the confidence to explore different options, take risks and know that asking for help is not a weakness but all part of learning. As a Diocesan Trust, we nurture our children to care for and develop a sense of responsibility for others.

Above all, we strive to offer an education which is liberating and fun, to enable our pupils to take control of their own lives and to help make the world a better, more human place.

As DEMAT schools continue to play a vital role in providing a distinctively Christian education with spiritual development at its heart, we are committed to leading the way with a clear and confident message of the importance of exceptional education in the promotion of human flourishing. And, we are reminded of John 10, where Jesus says that he “has come that people may have life; and life in all its fullness”.
